Andrew Chou was first elected to Diamond Bar City Council in 2018.  Prior to being elected, he served as a Park & Recreations Commissioner for the City of Diamond Bar.  He won his re-election in 2022, and is now serving as the Mayor of Diamond Bar.  

Andrew was originally born in Taiwan, and immigrated with his family to the United States when he was 12 years old.  His family put down their roots in Hacienda Heights, and owned a thriving international wholesale business.  As the son of a business owner, he saw first hand the hard work, perseverance, and tenacity needed to succeed.

After graduating from University of California Irvine,  Andrew pursued a career in finance, rising through the ranks and became Senior Vice President in several national firms.  He eventually founded his own small business based in Diamond Bar.  As a strong advocate for other local small business owners, he founded the Diamond Bar CEO Circle, a local networking group whose mission is to connect and promote local businesses.  During the pandemic, the group served critical function in disseminating timely and accurate information regarding the latest health mandates, and various programs designed to help businesses not only survive, but thrive.  

As a father of two young children, Andrew is also a strong advocate for our local youths.  Andrew is frequently invited to speak to various student clubs and other community-based service organizations on matters important to today’s young residents.   

Additionally, Andrew is passionate about social causes such as equity,  inclusion, and fair representation for all.  That is why he has been a proud and vocal advocate of the anti-Asian Hate movement, and also spoke out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.  Under his leadership, the City of Diamond Bar issued its first ever Proclamations to recognize and honor both Black History Month and Asian American Heritage Month in 2021.

Andrew is fiercely committed to making sure that all residents have a say in the way we govern.
